New!
We're building the UK's
biggest ever tree house We were
approached by the National Trust for Scotland, and asked
to build a Treehouse and adventure zoned activities at
one of their castles in Banchory, outside Aberdeen.
Crathes
castle is a magnificent 16th-century tower house
standing on an estate granted to the Burnett family in
1323 by King Robert the Bruce.
This project is due to be completed in time for the
beginning of the new season, and will include a Tree
house & Access bridge, Treetop walk, Aerial trekking and
Adrenaline activities such as Zip Wires and Parachute
descender’s.
We believe that this would be the largest tree house
in the world and able to easily cater for upwards 100
visitors at any one time. The tree house will sit
approx. thirty feet in the air, with a rough diameter of
60 feet (including the promenade), which is huge in tree
house terms and would be accessed via a 40m rope bridge
extending from the main castle.
Great pains have been taken in the selection of
sympathetic materials and where steel is used out of
necessity, it will be clad in wood belying its origin.
The Tree House will weather beautifully, turning a
silvery colour over the months and years.
The rope bridge would link the castle to the tree
house, which is the hub of the tree top course. This
would entice participants into the tree house and on
then to the tree top walk or aerial trekking course.
The Treetop Walk will be a series of rope bridges
radiating from the tree house that spreads out through
out the wood. This will allow visitors the chance to
stroll amongst the treetops.
